I was just having a look around the forum, as I do when I'm on holidays! Seriously I am active when I have time
And I noticed how people are quite mean to each other on academic section of the forum, which I will not tolerate.
The new reputation system does give you some power to express yourselves, but please don't forge that moderators and admins are here to make sure your IBS experience is what we established the forum for.
Old Members: if you see a post from a new member in an academic forum asking for help, please be a little understanding if they do not lay out their whole life's work out. If you do think that the thread is being useless just to add up post count, that is when you report the post and the IBS team look and make the decision based on other posts and warning history of the users. Being mean to members you assume to be spamming, will only scare people away and kill the forum activity. You never know they may be the ones giving out the help later on when you guys move on and stop posting.
New Members: don't be afraid to post something because you are new. Everyone is welcome no matter how petty your question may seem. Make sure you abide by the rules of the forum, and don't expect to get your work done here for you.
Finally, we are not here to babysit you. Common courtesy is expected from all of you, so get over yourselves and be decent in your posts or we're going to start dishing out warnings.
P.S. Banter is more than welcome in the forums with no post count.
IB love,
The IBS team
