Are there any restrictions on the number of answer sheets handed in? I used 5 sheets for my math exam today, but my teacher removed the last one saying that max 4 are allowed (I don't get why they gave me the 5th in the first place). I don't know what is going on.

Hello, As staff at this site, we realise how much of a distraction the internet in general, and IBSurvival in particular, can be when it comes to exam time. If you find that IBSurvival is distracting you from your studies too much, or that you spend too much time procrastinating on here, you can request for a ban to help you concentrate on studying for exams. We will ban anyone who voluntarily asks to be banned to concentrate on their studies. Simply PM an admin or a supervisor stating the amount of time you want to be banned (e.g. 1 week, 2 weeks, until date X) and leave your email address. We will email you with our email so that you can contact us if you want to be un…

Hi everyone! That dreaded month is here and it’s time for your final IB exams! We’d like to just remind you of some rules regarding exam discussions. 1. Though you’re perfectly free to discuss exam papers, keep in mind the strict 24-hours rule. This means you cannot discuss any part of an exam paper with anyone outside of your school community before 24 hours had passed since the end time of the exam. In other words, before the 24 hours had passed, you cannot in anyway discuss the exam, even if it’s just to say you found it hard or easy. 2. Please keep ALL your discussion of exam papers in the Exam Discussion forum. Each exam paper should have its own separate thread i…

In order to help control the 24 hour limit imposed on exams, topics must be approved before they are posted. They won't be approved for public view until the 24 hour wait is up, and they must then be approved manually by a moderator - this may or may not be exactly on the dot of the 24 hour limit, but hopefully as close as possible. We know how much you all want to discuss the exams with each other! Please don't post things over and over again because they haven't shown up, because actually they will show up eventually - you just have to be patient I'm afraid! I would also like to remind people not to share information about/discuss the content of their exams via PMs e…

This is the Discussion Timetable NOT the exam schedule. Exam schedule can be found here. All the discussion about the exams has to be in the EXAM DISCUSSION forum, not in the subject forums. It is EXTREMELY important that you do not post those topics in any other forum as it will not be possible for us to properly moderate them. Thank you. Three IBSurvival guidelines: 1. The topics you start are invisible until a staff member approves it. Therefore, do not start another topic when you can't see yours. No discussions via PMs before the 24-hour wait is up. Yes, we can check PMs. For more information: Is your post not showing up…

Okay! So now it has been 24 hours (actually a bit more) since I wrote the exam paper and I am now free to discuss the exam freely What is your thought about the paper? I found it quite, hard, to be honest... or at least the prose... I have been analysing the older English A1s and just one A2 and I can say that this year's exam at least was far more closer to the A2 one. You may ask me, doesn't it make it easier? Well, perhaps, but the language was far less complicated in A2 and A1 and so I found it harder to discuss diction as it was more simplified This all in all makes it harder to raise topics about structure, and other things as there is less variability. However, I…

So how was it. Personally I found Paper 1 quite hard. By the way which questions did you answer in section b and what time zone are you? This is a post from CkyBlue: Any thread related to papers is required to be created in the exam discussion topic, so the staff can approve when the time is right to discuss it. This discussion was only suppose to start at 13:00 GMT, but it started at 08:47 GMT. Discussing the exam any time before it is in violation of IBO regulations. It is imperative that you only discuss exams in that forum because it is under moderation. We cannot keep track of all the other forums. Because there was no discussion of the actual content of the e…

Thoughts? What did you pick, prose or poetry? I'm in TZ2 and I picked the prose, 'Into Silence' by Barton. I thought it was quite straightforward and easy to understand; more so than the prose extracts from past papers! Quite happy with how it went overall.

Which questions did you do and how did you find the paper? I studied a lot for Italian unification and it just so happened that it was the first time in the history of the IB when a question on Italian unification required the knowledge of German unification also. When I read it, I was already thinking of how I would retake the exam in November. However, luckily, there were a few very open-ended question that I took advantage of. At the end, all 5 of my essays were on Hitler I did: 1. The impact of Wold War I on the domestic affairs one country (Germany) 2. The effects of The Great Depression on one country (Germany) 3. Evaluating the domestic policies of Hitler between …

How did everyone feel? I LOVED it. I answered the question in TZ2 on light and sound in drama, on Williams' 'Streetcar' and Fugard's 'Master Harold', and it was a gift from god. I got to use all the knowledge about themes I had, along with that on scenic metaphor and dramatic techniques and styles in the two plays. The essay practically wrote itself, and it helped that I drafted an essay plan for virtually the same question last week! I feel a lot better about English after what I thought was a shaky Paper 1 now. For everyone reading this in later years but without access to our exam papers, the questions in the Drama section (for both HL and SL) were roughly 'discuss th…

Hi everyone, it's now been 24 hours so here we go. Paper 1 I had TZ2 and did questions 1 and 3. Question 3 was a gift in my opinion, whereas question 1 was difficult Paper 2 was a gift from above. Did question 2 about the Rupee and question 4 about Peru. Paper 3 at first thought it was really hard. Definitely was now comparing it to past years.. But then once into it, it got much better! Did questions 2 & 3. ALL DONE NOW, good luck in rest of your exams.

Hey guys! So I know there was a discussion started on this exam but that was in the general forum and I just thought that us psychology students should also have a place on this exam discussion forum! Overall the paper wasn't too bad, but I think i messed up a few dates here and there. The only trouble I had for section A was the stereotypes one. What did you guys write for that?? And for my essay I chose the: "Evaluate one model/theory of one cognitive process" - overall I feel this went alright but I'm scared that perhaps 2 studies were not enough?

Hey guys, we're allowed to discuss P1 now and P2 tomorrow! I loved the questions, they were brilliant, especially the complex numbers one in q.13. Initially, i must admit I didnT' really see how to answer them, but then it just struck me and BAM. Really high hopes on this paper, thinking about 113/120. (Got my stupid graph wrong because I forgot the minus at the second derivative. Jesus.) I found the question abotu the sequences werid, where you had to find r, which was only 6 marks. Because I felt it should have been more than 6 marks. Finding the pattern, simplifying, seeing that (r-1) is a factor of the 3rd degree polynomial, finding the other factor by identification,…

It was a disaster! Holy broccoli it was crazy. 1. Time was Extremely limited. I needed a solid hour to attempt all questions to the extent of my knowledge. 2. The questions weren't easy either! I probably left around 50-55 points untouched out of the 120.. assuming I get everything else correct (which I probably wont) it was still extremely difficult! Tell me how you guys did! Hopefully It didn't go as badly for you!

How did you guys find paper 2? I think it was harder than the previous years, but the questions were manageable. However, since they were much harder than usual, they took twice the time I usually need to work them out. So I ended up leaving 2 questions out in section A - the sequences question and probability. The trigonometry question was nasty - took me 20 minutes to finally work it out - hopefully I got the right value of r (approx 6cm?) The vectors question in section B was a gift, even Q10 was fairly easy except for the last sub-question. Then since I suck at probability, Q9 was my pitfall. Probably lost most of those 15 marks

So what's everyone's thoughts on paper 1 and 2 for maths SL? (It's been 24 hours since I did the exam so pretty sure timezones are all good). I found paper 1 easier than paper 2, there was definitely a bit of logic required for some questions, particularly paper 2 question 9 and 10 to manipulate the different parts. I definitely found these papers more difficult than may 2014 and last year november, what did everyone else think?

OMG Bio! What'd you think of it? I'm TZ1. I thought Paper 1 was pretty nice! I looked at the question w/ + and - as the answers, and I was like what the heck? But I got - and - as my answer. And I spent way too long on the pedigree one. The only one that could have made sense was the X linked, recessive, right? I wanted to make sure that it was right... What you get on the backwards recombinant one? I finally put A as my answer. Can't recall exactly what it was, but I remember it took me a while to get the answer. And I hadn't studied long-day short-day enough. I read about it, but when it got to the P red and P far red, I zoned out because I didn't understand... eek.…

I think a thread about re-marks will be useful to the ones who are considering a remark or waiting for their enquiry to take place, as it's quite inconvenient to search the information about re-marks in many separate threads. I suggest posting the following information: Subject How many % was the grade from the next one (if relevant, breakdown by components)How long did the decision takeResult (up, down or unchanged)By "re-mark" I mean mainly a category 1 enquiry upon results (EUR). Perhaps some information would be necessary: A category 1 EUR involves the externally assessed components of a candidate's work (thus, no IAs - they can be re-moderated separately as a part…

Hi everyone. how did you do on your math paper 2? I live in Asia so I am guessing I am doing TZ2? erm,.. I personally think that paper 2 is tougher than paper 1.. however both papers are still more simple that past year papers. I left our 2 questions though, worth 24 points T_T anyone did the trapezium thing? I really had no idea how to work it out.
