Hey everyone, As you can tell from the title, I'll be writing the Pre-IB entrance exam for BSS and St Roberts this fall. I got all E's and an overall average of around 92% on my 7th grade final report card, (but I'm not sure how low the acceptance rate for both schools are so I'm not sure if that's enough). Does anyone know roughly how many students get accepted into the program each year? Also, does anyone know how difficult the actual exam is? How much time do you get for each component, roughly how many pages of each component are there and around how many questions are on a page? How hard was each section, and what types of questions were on the exam? Especially …

Each form in our IB school has about 40-50 students, so there have to be several classes for each subject to keep the maximum number in each class below around 16. Most subjects are available in both English and French, and the average ratio of teaching staff to students is 1:6.

Today our Coordinator gave an interesting presentation on the PP for the MYP4 students who will be starting their projects next month. I learned that there is a new version of the PP Guide this year, and among the changes from previous years students must select only one of the 5 AOIs instead of several. He emphasized that each of the 7 assessment criteria are worth 4 points, which means that things like the Process Journal (recording the story from seed to Outcome) get just as many marks as the Outcome itself. The nice thing about the PP is that you have a completely free choice of the subject, so you can choose something about which you are (or can be) fairly passionate…

I think there are so many cool subjects out there - that I would love to take instead of the ones I take! But my school doesn't offer many, and there was quite a few restrictions on which subjects that you couldn't take if you took another one because of timetabling subjects. I would love to change English B to an ab initio language - would love to do Russian or Japanese. I would also love to do either Greek or Latin, one of the classical languages. I would also love to do music! Haha - if I were to do all the subjects I want, I would probably end up with like 10 subjects.

I have some problems concerning my IB choices and would therefore like some help. I really like the social sciences and the less mathematical sciences such as Biology, and would therefore like to study something related to those later. For the social sciences I would like to study something like International Relations, International Politics, PPE, Law etc. Hell, anything of that kind of stuff really. When it comes to the sciences I would like to study something that as I said before, is less mathematical in nature than for example Physics. I've looked at Biology, Neurobiology, Psychology (not the kind of social Psychology as in the IB curriculum though) and those kind of…

Hi everyone, I'm currently in 8th grade and I am planning on taking both the St. Robs and Bayview entrance exam into their ib programs. Can someone please explain to me how the exam is broken down, what can I expect, and what are my chances for getting in? (roughly 700 students apply to each school every year, only around 250 get accepted). For Bayview, I have an average of around 88% from my grade 7 final term, and a solid teacher recommendation. How well do I have to perform on the test in order for me to get into the program?? St.Roberts only relies on the test scores, im pretty sure. Also, is there any advice or helpful tips for studying for the tests? …

Evening people, I'll be starting the IB next year, but I'm unsure of what subjects I should pick. I'm interested in taking a major in either Law or International Affairs, in the US (if that matters). I'm strong in every subject but math. I've also heard that some uni's consider certain subjects to be "soft" - is this correct? Here's the Curriculum offered in my school clicky.

I'm starting my IB course next week and I am currently contemplating on changing my subjects combination. My current subjects combo: HL: Maths, Chemistry, Physics SL: Economics, English A1, French ab initio Looks like a good combination for engineering, right? Hello! I will be starting my first year of IB in a couple of weeks, and I am still stressing about my courses, whether I have chosen the right ones yadda yadda. Good evening! I'm going into the Pre-IB after the summer; August 18 to be a bit more specific. I'm really excited and I obviously want to do as well as possible, thus causing me to wonder if there's anything I could prepare for. You might suggest me to relax, enjoy the summer and not prepare for the preparation, but I don't have much else to do, really. I figured mathematics might be a subject I'd be able to study a bit on my own, considering all the youtube guides out there. I thought about ordering the textbook I eventually will use when I start the Pre-IB, but I'm unsure which one to order. Guidance here is much appreciated.

Russian is practically my mother language and if I take it as a B language HL then 7 points are practically mine . But the problem is that I am very fond of German too, but I have studied it for only 3 years and am nowhere even close to Russian with it and I am scared of losing points and getting like 4-6 p. instead of 6 or 7. Now I dont't know what to take, a language which would give me max. points or a language new I could maybe learn to a normal level.. What do you think ? :/
