Megan205
Hiya, I'm just wondering if any of you have been to the Language Show which is going to be at Earls Court in London this October. If you've been before (I don't think it was at Earls Court) then what did you think? I live about 3 hours from London so I don't want to make the trip for nothing... Bishup
My brother has been to Earl's Court for top gear. But what is the language show about? Reply
Megan205
Ah Top Gear Live I've been to that in Birmingham. It's amazing! Anyway, it's a show where loads of companies who specialise in products and services for those learning or teaching languages can exhibit. It looks quite good, but I'd like to know if anyone has been. There's also a careers fair. This is what I'm most interested in because I love languages but don't really know what jobs would be available if you were to take a language degree. Bishup
I love love languages too. Even though my HL combination says otherwise. If it weren't for medicine I'd go for languages. I really hope you do languages at Uni too. Less than 1% of UK students do languages at undergrad so you have little competition for a course that's fabulous. What languages do you do in the IB? Megan205
Medicine's what I've always wanted to do too, but at the same time I love languages. That's why I want to go and just check that I'm happy doing medicine and not languages at uni. I'm doing HL French, Biology and Chemistry. Megan205
Have now been to the Language Show. To be honest it was pretty rubbish and didn't inspire me at all. There was a seminar on how to improve your CV and sell yourself to employers, but how the speaker got his job I have no idea. On the plus side, I did get a few free pens, so all was not lost Reply
