Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew the word limit (if there is one) for chemistry SL IAs.

Mine both reached the 4000 word mark, and I'm wondering if I should be worried (both longer than my EE! lol). A classmate of mine even hit 6000 words on one of his.

no word limit but I think you write too much of bull**** which won't bring up your grades. might even unnecessarily bring your grades down.

If that's the total word count it's also including every individual thing for data collection and processing which could be quite a bit. But 4000 is ridiculous still, even if 500 of it is just the DCP.

I have no room to talk though since my last bio IA was 27 pages long with ~8k word I think, I wonder if I still have that around >.>

Actually Desy, almost every word of the 4000 is an important part of the IA. Irrelevance is kept out for the mere fact that I will lose marks. I still have more to write on it.

Drake, 8000 is simply colossal. Lol. Did you lose marks for it?

Nope, it was over heart rate so there was TONS of stuff to evaluate and crap about all the natural heart rate changers and stuff. Found out one of my test subjects actually was drinking Mt. Dew during the test...we were so confused why his heart rate wouldn't drop under 100...

No word limit at all, don't worry. My Chem IA was 5,000+ words and I got a 24/24, but I would recommend writing less... you probably don't need that much to get everything you need.
