Any ideas to get more people to join IBSurvival (as this forum certainly deserves more members than it has)?

Facebook Advertising? Maybe advertising on TSR and other IB websites
Hahaha. Word of mouth has worked is by far the best for a forum like this.

Maybe allow non-VIP's to get one free file download (so that they can see the benefit of contributing to the forum, and raising numbers) ?

We will look into this more actually. As for downloads, non-VIPs can download The General IB Downloads files.

I think just spreading the word would be good, if more people knew about the site, how helpful it is and the great resources it has, I truly believe they would get accustomed to visiting the site just as regularly as they visit Facebook, twitter, or other social networks

Like everyone else said, word of mouth would be better especially when you say it helps you do portfolios and such. worked for me (as in i told my friends that and they joined

Well, I tried to convince my friends to join IBS and they replied with "well, you're there, if we want something from there, you'll always do it for us".
But I guess the forum is doing quite well, it's not like no one is writing here or multitude of unanswered questions.

Yeah but on average there are only like 5 new topics posted everyday. Depends on your perspective whether that is a lot or not, but the more the merrier!

I think the point is not in starting countless topics because some questions that are asked in new topics could really be asked in the existing ones, but rather in whether or not the existing topics are doing fine. From what I see here, being here for over a year, the forum is doing fine. But, of course, the more people, the better, as long as these people contribute to our forum.

not really actually, sometimes there are just so many unanswered posts because there's not enough people who want to help, unfortunately.
IBS is on facebook and twitter, maybe we should get people to like the FB page and follow the twitter too.

Haha, you do realize a VIP account is to only benefit one person right? As in, downloading files for your friends is against the rules. Tell them if they make you do that, it will be breaking the rules and may cost you your VIP title! Don't let them do that to you.

AHiddenName's fool proof method of getting more members:
YOU GET FREE COOKIES IF YOU JOIN IBS!
I can't believe no one has thought of this before
