Hey,

So, as an IB student, I'm obviously subjected to endless amounts of coursework and other essays. I usually work at home and save stuff on my memory stick (USB, flashdrive or whatever you want to call it) and access work at school from it but this of course risky; if I lose my memory stick, I'd lose all my work. I do occasionally just copy everything on my USB to my home laptop to make sure it's backed up but again, I do this once in a while. Usually, whenever I've completed an essay or something, I just email it to myself to make sure it's always there. But, this is time consuming and I can't do it for many documents.

So, I've been looking around for an online place thingy where I can just upload important work so it's saved online. That why, if I lose my USB, my computer dies or whatever happens, it'll be there.

However, I don't know what website/storage place to go with. I've seen Google Docs, iCloud and some other ones but have no idea which one to go with. Please share your knowledge.

Thanks

Try Google Docs... you don't need to make it open to everyone to access i think.

Dropbox might also suit you (http://www.dropbox.com/). You sound exactly like my Chemistry teacher who constantly reminded us to have more than 3 backups of our IB files. You may also consider saving any really important essays on our e-mail account (either as a draft mail or send it to yourself in order to stay in your inbox).

I second Dropbox, it's a great resource. It's quick and easy to use and I find it wonderful. I regularly back up all my work on it.

I also recommend Dropbox. It's really easy to use, and very easy to get more storage space (for free!), and very quick too - I can put a document into Dropbox faster than signing into an email and emailing it to myself.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've now made a DropBox account and couldn't agree more; it is really easy to use and quick. Thanks :)
