When you're in highschool and in a relationship with different religious views, it isn't much of a problem. Personally, i generally prefer the company of people who agree with my views or see the world as i do. It can be a litle infuriating bumping heads with people.

Opposites can be awesome but when one is a militant athiest and the other is entrenched in their religious views but they both love debating then no they probably won't work.
If we went to a comedy show and I couldn't stop laughing whereas she just couldn't stop complaining then It's most likely going to be a problem.
Relationships involve compromise too.
