Hey everyone, I am currently in first year IB taking HL Math.  However, I am struggling a bit with complex numbers in polar form, so I was wondering if you guys could provide some helpful tips/tricks with these types of questions?  I always blank out when I attempt to solve these questions.

For example, what steps should I take when solving this question:

If z is a complex number and |z+16| = 4|z+1|, find the value of |z|

Thanks!

Remember that | z |^2=zz*

This property is crucial - square both sides of your equation and then work it from there (:
