Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting on IB Survival, and I am in a pretty urgent situation right now. I hope some of you guys would be helpful enough to guide me through this situation.
I am a high-school student in an IB school taking the certificate program, and I am currently applying for universities in Canada.
Although everything seemed to be fine, I noticed that I was stupid enough to not look closely upon the general admission requirements of each school.
The schools that I am applying for include York, McMaster, UT, UBC, and Waterloo.
Today I just found out that only UBC accepts students that take the certificate program, and all the other schools require the Diploma in specific.
Now here's my question: does that mean I have no choice of getting in to those universities except for UBC?
I have ECs almost equivalent to the 150 CAS hour! Also I am in HL still for the courses that I am applying to.
Is there absolutely no chance? I am so desperate right now, and I don't know what to do. I hope someone can help me now.
Thanks.

what you can do is really contact and ask the admissions officer at each university. I don't think many of us will be helpful in this case. if they're quite impressed with your grades etc, maybe you'll get a chance? maybe. not sure how strict those universities are. just ask them! but try to say that even though you're not doing the full diploma, you're still able and interested to go to uni hence you applied there.. try to BS a little.
good luck!

No...It just means you apply as an international student and you send in your local (Chinese ciriculum grades), instead of your IB grades. You alsomight need to take the Toefel.
