Book: One Hundred Years of Solitude
Option: 2B - Creative

I was planning to write a monologue from Ursula's perspective about the cyclical aspect of time and relate it to her blindness.

Would that work? My teacher was saying that if you do a monologue then it needs to be written like the author.

Hey, does anyone know about how the wordcount is organized? the frontpage doesn't count right or does it? I know bibliography doesn't.

I can't comment exactly on whether this topic is good concerning the book or not since I didn't read this novel for my World Lit portion. But your teacher is right, it needs to be in the author's style.

Do you mean the cover page with your name, information, and all that? No it doesn't count.
The word limit for WL2 is between 1000 and 1500 words. If you do Option A or Option C, just count all the words in your paper excluding the bibliography, cover page, things like that. If you do Option B, you need an accompanying statement of around 500 words that addresses all of these elements:

- explain the work(s) on which the assignment will be based
- the nature of the task to be engaged in, including considerations such as audience, register, form
- the aspects or elements of the work(s) on which the candidate intends to focus
- how the candidate intends to explore these aspects or elements

And this statement is included in the 1000-1500 word count. So your statement + creative assignment together must not be over 1500 words or under 1000.
