Hey!

Yeah, so the title says it all. We got new teachers for all our subjects except Chemistry this school year. Although, I think my math/physics teacher is really cute and all, it feels like she is doing everything she can to lower my grade.

I used to be the best in class, especially in maths, and I have to thank my old teacher for really helping the me and the class all the way. He used to guide us and explain us on everything we wanted to know, but our new teacher just basically expects us (especially me, I think) to manage it all by ourselves.

For our IA's, she doesn't provide is with enough information about anything until after she has graded us. Me, being the only one who actually handed in my draft for our first type 2 portfolio, still got the lowest points. She did not correct me on the proper IB notations, nor did she tell me that my implications were wrong.

The same goes for our physics design. She basically just gave us a topic and told us to write a design, without really telling us HOW to write it until AFTER she had gives us feedback on the two designs that we had written.

I really feel like she is ruining my grades (and this is from a person who measures herself from the grades she gets), which is ruining my self-confidence.

I really don't know what to do. Tomorrow, we are conducting an experiment we have designed ourselves and I am really afraid to go. Please help?

Wow, I can totally relate to you. My Math teacher is new too and I used to be pretty good at maths last year (the best actually) and now I barely pass. Well, actually I failed my complex numbers and trigonometry tests. Besides, she's quite rude sometimes and we've a few arguments already =/ The only thing I can tell you about it is keep it up! Both of us need to focus on improving our maths skills this year, or so it seems.

My physics teacher does that too, by the way. She expects me to know how to write reports perfectly fine and think about perfect designs. All I can advise you is tell her your problems, I did that and she helped me a lot with the reports.

Hope it helped :)
