I'm writing an essay about the independence movement of Brazil (about 1810 or so to 1822) and I'm having a really difficult time finding primary source documents. If anyone can help me out and tell me where I can find worthwhile stuff for Brazil at this time period or even just a database or something that may be useful, I would be really grateful.

I'm not sure if you will be able to find any decent sources or not, but the website I'm suggesting you has tons of primary/secondary sources which helped me a lot while writing the EE. Good luck!

It's just a suggestion, as I haven't tried it, but I think if you browsed for information in Portuguese or Spanish you might find some more information, and then you can simply use a translator or something...

Message me or something if you have trouble translating things.

Good luck :)

Try heading to a national library or a university one. You'll find a larger variety of books and articles there most likely.

Considering that your topic is based in the 19th century it would be hard to find a good legitamate primary source. Your best bet is a national or university library just like Award Winning Boss mentioned.
You can also consider going to a national museum, to see if they have any old letters etc. that you may check out, or even get references to professors who have studied this topic and most probably have sources.
