French 1
Honors World Geography
Honors Biology
Honors Geometry
Orchestra
Orchestra
Physical Education
Honors Algebra 2 (self studied if I wann do Math HL)
Honors Chemisrty (self studied so I can do AP ES)
Health (summer school, could possibly change to AP world history if AP Euro is offered nest year)
Physical Education (last semester of high school required PE, also in summer school)

10th grade
Honors English 2
French 2
AP world history OR AP European history (if Ap euro is offered.... then world history in the summer, Ap euro 10th grade)
AP Environmental Science
Honors Pre-Calculus (required for Math HL)
Orchestra
AP Statistics
Honors Computer Class
Speech (summer school and another grad. Requirement)
AP Human Geography (self studied for the test)
Health (if I take Ap world history instead of it before 10th grade)

11th Grade: IB! :D
English A1 HL (only HL is offered, hopefully SL is one of the limbo courses right now :))
French B SL
HOA HL (I don't like South American Modern History)
Biology HL (biology teacher right now teaches it for 1st years!)
Mathematics HL (what I've wanted to to instead of Math SL, this is a limbo course now, and if its not available when I'm a junior, then no IB for me, IDK why though....)
Chemsitry SL
Orchestra (just an easy period and a college thing)
AP Psychology for fall and TOK for Spring
Honors Physics ( in the summer and the IBO pays for their student to take it since we can't, and its state required)
AP music theory (why not? No seripusl, should I? Only doing it to get out of a fine arts credit in College)
AP Art History (same as music theory)

12th grade :D
English A1 HL
French B SL
HOa HL
Biology HL
Mathematics HL
Chemistry SL
AP Physics B (????? A little shaky on this one but I figured with math HL, this would be a breeze!)
TOK fall, AP Macro economics spring
AP Government (self studied and gov. Is embedded in HOA)
AP comparative (easy test)
AP Microeconomics (easy test)
AP Latin Vergil (easy test and I'm ready a Latin book and have some extra help from my sister)

BTW I know what is required for IB, I am asking if you think this is possible and wise to do this. Please let me know any redundant classes, things that are meaningless, and stuff that is just a waste or is too hard . Thank you :)

Dude... you're taking the IB in 2014 :o You're going to know everything 2 years in advance

Anyway it depends on what you actually do... having a pristine plan for 3 years in advance won't help if you don't do anything.

Plus don't you think it's a bit odd predicting what is easy and what isn't 3 years in advance? Things change quite frequently so take my word on this (because i'm a boss) this plan won't stay the same, I reckon you'd probably forget it too XD

Oh and I think i'll add after reading your post again... stop assuming things will be easy. You never know a unicorn could come and eat some of your brain then you won't find such things easy would you? You don't need so many classes.

In conclusion A LOT of what you're doing is a big waste. :argh:

Ok. I need to ask you this: what do you need so many classes for? Trust me: I'm doing the most basic IB programme (6 subjects, 3HLs, 3SLs, Social Sciences at HLs) and it's difficult and stressful enough. So, unless you're a robot/uber-genius, tone down. Or else, you're gonna end up in a hospital, tired to death.

PS. What's a "limbo course"?

you know, after like one or two years already, you are very likely to have changed your future plan. starting from your favourite subjects till what you wanna be... it's good to have things planned early, but I think it'd be pretty difficult to stick to such plan in the future. you would change quite a lot.

Is it possible? Yes. Is it wise to do this? Absolutely not.

When you're in IB, actual IB, you will have a ton of work to do. You will have a lot of essays, projects, IAs, TOK essays, CAS, and your EE to worry about, on top of all of your homework. When will you have time to take 3 or 4 AP classes, such as art history or music? Trust me, although some of them you described as having "easy tests" you will have to do a lot of work for. I took AP art history, it's easy but it is a LOT of work. 30,000 years of art history? Yeah.

I would seriously consider dropping at least half of those classes for each future year. You'll be so stressed out you won't know what to do.

How about this... stop trying to plan your live 4 years in advance. It's pointless.

May I ask what your plans for the future are? I mean, the future after high school. What do you want to do in life? Leaving some space for ECs might be a good idea, you'll really need to take break from time to time, trust me. Also, choosing subjects simply for the reason of fulfilling some college requirements is not the best idea.

Why do you want to do IB anyway?

Perhaps. You do have a bunch of tough IB classes. Are you sure you really need classes like Latin vergil and government? By the way, what state do you live in? I've never heard of a state that requires such an intense load of courses for graduation.

Oh, it's a challenge all right.
That's why you can't be taking like 10 AP classes, you just won't have the time for it. Didn't your counselor tell you more about IB and the work it requires?

i live in Texas XD we have alot of stupid high school requirements. and the IB coordinators require such a tough schedule to see if kids are serious about it. The budget issues cause them to make sure they dont fund a program that kids arent prepared for or willing to do

Ok. But, honestly, WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR LIFE. Do you want to be a doctor? A history teacher? Philosopher? Engineer? For me, that's what mattered when choosing subjects and making a week schedule for myself.

I speak this from the bottom of my heart. Do something for yourself. Going through all those classes is suicide. I have never really seen a good reason for doing both IB and AP, I suggest you pick one. What are you going to be when you grow up? Pick something that you want to do. Pick something that is beneficial to your future. You do not have to be good at EVERYTHING to succeed to the fullest. I am doing 3 HLs and 3 SLs, and I am half-dead trying to learn 7 more topics for tomorrow for my chemistry exam. Stop this insanity man, save yourself....

But there wouldn't be anyone willing to do the program if you guys are so stressed out from your workload!
Keep your IB classes and ONE or maybe TWO of your APs that you like the most.Except maybe drop HL maths. It's really really hard, even for math-oriented people. Even then, your interests might change. I decided to take AP biology this year because it fit in with my career interests. I would have never thought three or four years ago that I would take this class. You don't have to follow such a rigid schedule. Live your life!

So the conclusion we had reached is:
  • Your first timetable was crazy
  • Drop your APs because you don't need all of them
  • You can still get to places without loads of unnecessary work
  • I like unicorns
  • Unicorns are sexy
  • IB is difficult
  • I also like dragons
  • :D

Just live you're life! You're probably 13 or 14. Not many people know what they want to do at that age anyways. Someday you'll be doing something and what you want to do will hit you. And you don't need like 12 classes for that to happen. Figure out what you want to do, and then pick your classes around that.

Current mood: Question
You'll most likely find out what you want to do not thorough the classes you take but ECs or rather people you meet or things you experience. E.g. I want to be a lawyer. It didn't come from taking classes on Roman History but rather watching a TV show when I was in primary school. Then, of course, it developed in me in a more serious matter. But, what I'm trying to say, is that school is not everything and it doesn't form as as humans or future adults. It's the world around us that does. Even IB won't work the magic. It can make you into a critical thinker, sure thing. But it won't form you if you don't form yourself. Life is for living it, not living an impossible schedule. :)
