Hey everyone,

I'm in the middle of my World Literature Assignment 2, but am still a bit confused about what kinds of books we can use for it (both 2b. and 2c.). The criteria says either a) one WL and one Language A1 work, or b) one WL;

So does this mean that if, for example, I have Perfume as my World Lit novel, and The Great Gatsby as my Language A1 work, I can either do the WL2 assignment on [ONLY Perfume], or [Perfume AND The Great Gatsby combined]? Will I be able to use The Great Gatsby alone for my WL2?

I'm so lost :(

no you can not use it alone because gatsby is not a world lit. Its written by an american dude. You can only do a comparison essay if you want to use gatsby.

As a general guideline, if the criteria says one book, it means to use a book that you've been learning in class that is a book in translation. If it says two books, that means that you can use two books where one is a book in translation and the other is a book that is originally written in English. This is a world literature paper, which means that its main focus is on the book that is in translation.

I believe you can use up to two books on the 2b creative assignment (one MUST be a work in translation), but 2c is a commentary/analysis of one book, which means it must be in translation. Hope that helps!
