Hi everyone, I am planning on doind my Extended Essay in Biology. I was thinking about doing some form of ecological survey, but am having difficulty thinking of a specific topic. I was wondering if anybody has any interesting ideas for my survey, such as the effect of different environmental variables on specific plant species. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks :)

Probably a bit simple for an EE, but I remember an experiment I did once at school where we put tinfoil (total covering and partial coverings) on some leaves of a plant then maintained all other conditions it needed. We then tested the leaves for starch content using Iodine solution and observed how the parts which were covered were different, even on the same leaves etc. Not 100% sure if that's how the experiment went, but hopefully it can give you some inspiration :) good luck with your biology EE, I think I'll be doing a biology one myself
