I live in the United States and I'm only a freshman 9th grade.
I'm in Honors and I'm currently doing pre-iB.
I have to choose to either take IB or AP for junior year.
Can someone please explain to me what it is like to be in IB?
Is it really difficult? Tell me about your experiences and the important things that I should know if i decide to join IB
I dont want to drop out of IB in the middle of the year because that'll look really bad on my profile. I've heard that at my school, more then half of the students drop out each year.
I'm willing to work hard, but I'm already lacking sleep and feeling stressed and this is only my freshman year!
Which path should I take ? IB or AP?Someone please help!
Tell me what you have to do for your classes in detail. What are the requirements and what do the teachers look for?
I'm also taking tennis right now. Do you think I'll still have time for sports? I heard it's great for college. and is it true that taking the IB required classes will prevent you from taking the required classes for the college you want to go to?

I'd highly suggest you to take AP. you'll have a better social life and enough time to play tennis. also, AP would be sufficient to get you into uni. so there's no point in taking IB. I would take A Levels instead if only I had the choice. good luck!

Do AP buddy. Universities see IB and AP the same, but AP is way easier and you can actually have time for sports and a life.

I prefer IB.
It's the best high school course i have ever come across..!!
It really nurtures you and develop you as a personality at the end of high school..!
Good luck
Don't go by what other souls say to do, do what your heart and mind says..!!!
Cheers..

Oh, another poor soul looking to do IB... Honestly, I'm not finding it life-destroying. Yet.
Clearly I have not been in IB long enough to give you an accurate answer to your question. A lot of the "toughness" of IB would probably depend on the subjects you choose. For example, if you chose to do Maths HL, Physics HL and Chemistry HL, compared to English HL, Biology HL, (insert name of random subject) HL, you'd probably have a much harder time. Assuming that you're not a maths/science person. So make sure you choose your subjects well if you do do IB, and talk to people to see what they think about the way IB is taught near you. Generally, you have to be quite organised and focused to do well - for example, don't be typing on here when you're meant to be finishing English homework that was due this morning.
I know nothing about AP, but there are probably lots of people you can ask about them.
I hesitate to say "I hope you do IB", but I'm sure you'll enjoy it even if it's a lot of work!
