I was hoping to do my Historical Investigation on Maria Theresa, but I'm not sure how to pick a topic that is not too broad, and that actually can be found in sources. During my EE, I found myself continuously changing topics because my research questions were too uncommon. Help?

I had also trouble choosing a topic
look at this post where I share my experience
http://www.ibsurviva...-in-hl-history/
so you are interested in Maria Theresa (of Austira?)
Try to find one aspect of her that interests you (like the seven years war, something in her religious views, her foreign/domestic policy, the reforms she made, etc)
also talk with your history teacher about your topic and ask if it is narrow enough

I think you should borrow or buy books about Maria Theresa and during reading them you will came up with your topic. It;s impossible to choose topick without knowing her story of life.
I did it and that's the only way my teacher and  I recommend ;)
