I want only to make sure whether the tables in group 4 ee are counted in the word count, even if it contains so many words (e.g. qualitative observations).

I'm not sure if the rules change for EE in different groups, but I had quite a few tables in my EE (Economics) and the words were not counted towards the overall word count - otherwise my final count would be 4.999
But again, it was an EE for group 3.

for any subject, tables are not taken into account in the word count, no matter how big or how wordy it is.

that is one of the skills an IB student must posses. the critical ability to select specific areas in a topic to generate a good question.
try to read up on your topic, perhaps you'll find something interesting and perhaps intriguing for your question.
