Hey guys!
My RQ is "Why was the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong) able to defeat America in the Vietnam War?"
So far everything's been going brilliantly. Until I tried to start writing it today. Could anyone tell me what I'm supposed to say in my introduction? Do I talk about why this topic interests me? I literally have no idea how I'm supposed to start this essay.
(I'm not asking for anyone else to write the introduction paragraph for me; I just need to know what the focus of the introduction is meant to be.

This is a really huge question to answer in an extended essay as far as I can tell, maybe you should refine it a little, maybe specify: What was the role of Guerrilla tactics in the defeat of the United States of America by the National LIberation Front (Viet Cong) in the Vietnam War?
That allows you to choose the part of the issue that really interests you (Guerrilla tactis just as an example) and you can focus on the other big issues in the US defeat as a "contra" to your question (eg why guerrilla tactics might not have been as important)
Since the EE rubric is quite specific in regards of wanting your essay to be "true to the question", the specifics of the question matter quite a lot
Also, try to use "United States (of America)" not "America", some teachers are incredibly nitpicky about things like that.
About what to write in your introduction, ask your supervisor (or even your IB coordinator depending on the size of your school?) for the extended essay guide, it has quite a lot of useful info in it. Alternatively you should be able to find it somewhere online (I am not sure, it might even be on IBS)
