Guest B.E.P.
Wait? By 2012 syllabus guide do you mean the one for first examinations in 2014 or the current one in use?Anyways, here are both syllabi:http://www.education.umd.edu/MathEd/conference/vbook/math.sl.08.pdfhttp://crunchymath.weebly.com/uploads/8/2/4/0/8240213/2014_guide.pdfI uploaded the new math syllabi (first examinations 2014) today, I'm still waiting for them to get 'approved'. Guest some guy
What?I'm taking the exams in May 2013. My teacher recommended a textbook (which is apparently better than H&H) and the syllabus statements were slightly different than the ones in the guide for 2008. Also, I don't think that syllabus has a topic on matrices. The book I'm talking about is the new (2012) Oxford mathematics SL course companion.I don't know why but my teacher had me cross off the Matrices topic off of my copy of the syllabus guide. Maybe because we weren't studying the topic last year or perhaps because the topic is no longer in the syllabus.Edit: Apparently it is the 2014 syllabus. ;/But my teacher told me we'd use it (the book) in grade 12... As class of 2013...I don't regret ordering the book though. It feels modern and more specific to the IB.I guess I'll just have to learn the Matrices topic somewhere else. Thanks for the reply! The Economist
Since you are taking your exams in 2013 you should use the syllabus found in the first link that B.E.P. posted. That's the material you will be tested on.
