Would you write different lengths of 8 mark questions based on the command terms eg. outline vs explain.
My policy is to divide the first half of the exam 20 mins per 8 mark and then the next hour for the 22 mark
What do you think/what are your strategies?
Thanks

It's not really about length. It's more about quality, really.
For example, if you meet all the requirements in an 8 mark question, there's no point in continuing to write another paragraph of unnecessary information.
However, your strategy is good and it is usually the recommended strategy.
With me, i just do it lol. I don't pay much attention to such detail.
I'll just start the exam and keep working until i finish without looking up and get it done on time.
However, that's just the way i work. Everyone is different and if you are confident that your strategy works for you, go for it.
