sergio2339
Hello IBS. I really hope you all did well in both History papers. For Paper 1, the Arab-Israeli conflict, it seems that the IB followed the chronological order predicted: Camp David. I thought the exam was pretty straighforward: sources were not too confusing and the last question was broad enough to include your own knowledge.Regarding to Paper 2, in my opinion, the question of the Treaty of Versailles was a very interesting option to answer. On the other hand, in what concerns to the Cold War, I chose number 25, which was about Potsdam, Sovietization of Central and Eastern Europe and the Marshall Plan. Seems also that the one about Gorbachev was popular within the kids in my school. Edited November 15, 2012 by sergio2339 Reply
rbomeisel
Hey man!Did the same questions that you did (assuming that you took the one of T. of Versailles). I liked them pretty much. Thought it would be much more difficult. In paper 1 (peacemaking-peacekeeping), the questions were relatively easy, but still, time was really short. Apart from that, there was nothing impossible. I did the one of Versailles, because you were able to talk a lot abut its terms and how new problems resulted that impeded peace in the future. sarahlouise
For Paper 1 Peacemaking Peacekeeping I thought it was fine Paper 2, I didn't like the Authoritarian & Single Party States topics. Got through it though. The Cold War topic was nice though - we were, like most people probably, banking on an origins question and hoping that ours wasn't going to be the year they stopped putting it in. ma-de
For Paper 1 Peacemaking Peacekeeping I thought it was fine Paper 2, I didn't like the Authoritarian & Single Party States topics. Got through it though. For paper 1 I got the same, but I did it in german (and my mother language is Spanish), so it was a little difficult for me. In general I think it wasn't to hard.Paper 2 Authoritarian & Single Party States......I didn't knew what to choose, all the questions where about people I didn't study at all. At the end I worked with the question nr. 16, Totalitarism and Hitler. For Cold War most of the people in my school chose the one about Potsdam, but for me the easiest one was the one about the end of cold war.I have a question: One kid from my school chose a Question from a topic we were not suposed to chose. Our topics where Single Party States and the Cold War, but the chose a question from topic A, the one about Versailles. ¿His exam will be grade no matter if that topic was not in our study plan? Everyone is free to choose any topic, but obviously doing the topic you have been studying will guarantee a better grade. Reply
Aura
I loved the question on paper 2 about technological advances in war. I wrote almost 3 pages about it And paper 1 on peacekeeping was quite good too, I could answer everything in time. Maybe the boundaries are a little higher this year...
