Boksolar
I'm going to do an IOP by analyzing the typefaces/text-type in graphic novels (i.e. Persepolis, Maus, etc.)Because there are not that much things to present on Texttype, I need something in addition to typefaces to present on. Otherwise, my presentation will not be long enough.May I have some suggestions ? Edited February 16, 2013 by Boksolar Reply
dniviE
Do not focus upon the typefaces or text-types in graphic novels; it is not going to be enough to analyse for an IOP. You should be attempting to analyse it as normal literature, but try to find something specific that you are interested in. In Persepolis for example the drawings are in black and white. Those colours are very contrasting. Maybe try to look at what the stark drawings with large contrast between black and white does for communicating the message that Satrapi has? I don't know much about Maus, but it seems like a very cool graphic novel. I wanna read it! Good luck! Reply
