iknowwhocares
ok, I'm sure this question has been asked many times already, but I wanted to see if we could compile a list of books that most, if not all, HL Lit classes seem to have on their curriculum.I'd like to get ahead on the reading over the holidays, and while reading any book could help me prepare, I'd feel more confident going into the IB if I have an idea of what we're going to study. Thanks guys! Sandwich
It really is very varied and there's some central list somewhere with hundreds of different texts on it, to my knowledge. You'd be best off asking your teachers - for instance I think of all the texts I studied, only one of them is one I've seen other people on the forum also studying. I suggest you find out what the actual books are for your school because even if you read all of the books various other forum members read for their IB course, you could well sit down on your first day and discover that not a single one of them is one you're doing. That would be the more likely scenario. If you don't have a teacher to ask, somebody who's already doing the IB at your school will be able to tell you what gets studied. Schools rarely change the texts because the teachers tend to become expert at their particular novel/play/whatever.Unless you just wanted IB-level books regardless of whether you're likely to be doing them?
