masvingochick
Is anyone able to share the book lists for this? I have a new student starting at our school in August 2013 and she needs to select her books. Thanks! Reply
cjy
http://iblanguageself-study.wikispaces.com/file/view/IB+Swedish+A+Self-Study+Syllabus+SCIS.pdf/257317834/IB%20Swedish%20A%20Self-Study%20Syllabus%20SCIS.pdfHere is an example of books used. Where one could find a more extensive list, I expect the OCC would be your best bet. 1 Reply
cjy
You should have specified so. Will it be at HL ? Or SL? At SL there is no work of literature needed. OCC is the online curriculum centre for teachers Reply
masvingochick
Duh - sorry. I don't usually get involved with this level of info for admissions, just that it is holiday time and I am short of administrators to ask! It is SL. 1 Reply
cjy
Okay then she won't need any work of literature. I'd advise getting a teach yourself Swedish book, as there is no IB textbook for Swedish B. Is she a native ? I'd advise looking up the language B specification on the IB website and then past papers - especially the May 2013 Swedish B SL paper, as it is the first of the new syllabus Reply
masvingochick
Your first list was spot on. She is a native Swede so it is Lang A - Lit. Thanks for all your help. I was confused as she is also doing English HL and assumed it meant that the Swedish would be Lang B. 1 Reply
