Sandwich Posted July 10, 2013 Report Share Posted July 10, 2013 Words in brackets do count and yep if you've got a figure labelled up appropriately as Figure 2 then by all means put (Figure 2) in brackets. Basically whatever you do should be clear to understand and consistently used in the same way throughout the essay.
