blindpet
This thread is to compare predicted grades to actual grades. I'm starting this because I had little faith in my teacher's predicted grades (we apply as independents not via our school) and most of my fellow classmates felt they got screwed. Please post in a format similar to the one below. Predicted/Actual: 3/4 Biology SL: 6/6 Psychology SL: 7/5 Math Methods SL: 6/7 English A1 HL: 7/6 Danish B HL: 7/7 Economics HL: 6/7 TOK: A/B EE (Danish): A/A Predicted Total: 42 Actual Total: 41 I'm not sure why teachers are so bad at predicting grades but it really is a problem. I think it sucks that the people who teach us for 2 years have no influence on our final grade yet an examiner in a country far far away whom we will never meet decides our fate. Anyway, curious to see how bad your predictions were, post away. Reply
__inthemaking
Biology SL: 7/7 French B SL: 6/6 Math Methods SL: 7/7 English A1 HL: 6/5 Chemistry HL: 6/7 Economics HL: 6/7 TOK: A/B EE (History): A/A Predicted Total: 41 Actual Total: 42 My teachers were actually pretty close for my predictions. My chem teachers had told me that they knew I would get a 7 but predicted me a 6 just in case because they like to lowball their predictions. And economics was completely unexpected, I really didn't even think I would get my predicted 6 in it. The only thing I'm disappointed in is english, no one from my school got higher than a 5 and there were at least 5 people predicted high 6 in it (including me)..so either our examiner is really lazy and gave everyone the same mark or they mark really hard or we all bombed the exam . But I got better overall than my predicted so I'm satisfied. 1 Reply
