IA (HL) IA on Flexagons

Hi there, I really need some help on developing my IA. I'm currently investigating flexagons but I cannot proceed beyond investigating its physical properties (finding hidden faces and how to get them). The thing is, I don't know what calculations I can do in my investigation. I was thinking that maybe it can be connected to some problem out of the geometry field but I don't know what. So far, it looks like having mostly research on paper. rather than an investigation. Any ideas?

Maybe try generalising the number of configurations versus the 'order' of the flexagon: there seems to be a lot of scope to develop formulae relating the number of faces to how they can be arranged.

Possible areas:

Arithmetic/geometric series based on amount of "triangles"

Infinite series of the flexing of such flexagons

Generalization of n-flexagon

Symmetry and the ability to be flexed

I am doing mine on Flexagons too and I'm having the same problem. Can anyone pls help out?
