If I have a variable a on my y - axis, and the uncertainty was a ± 0.003, how would I calculate the uncertainty if my y- axis was transformed to ln(a)? by.andrew Posted April 5, 2014 Report Share Posted April 5, 2014 If the uncertainty on a is a constant (error bars are uniform throughout the data), then you should convert 0.003 to relative/percentage uncertainties for each value and reconvert it back to absolute uncertainties after you apply the ln function.
