Elisabed Gedevanishvili
I am stuck on my IA...I do not know if it's a good topic for IA or is it way too broad. I really want to get a 7 in this. How did you choose your IA? How did you choose the question? How am I supposed to know if it's way too broad? Here it goes:"To what extent can the abdication of Edward VIII be justified?"what do you think about it?Thanks Reply
AnnabananannaKam
I think that your IA topic must be much more specific than this.As your research question at the moment is quite broad. For example this is my research question on Anne Boleyn (my history IA)"To what extent was the execution of Anne Boleyn due to her inability to produce a male heir in 1536?"Dreading to work on my IA at the moment *cries* 1 Reply
Yahooo!
It does seem a little broad...How about: 'To what extent is _______ the most important factor leading to the abdication of Edward VII in (insert year). You can have one main cause, which you can argue was the most important (the one in the title). And three other causes, that are less significant yet still important. That's the structure I used for mine and I received 23/25. 1 Reply
Elisabed Gedevanishvili
Thanks everyone:))) It does seem a little broad...How about: 'To what extent is _______ the most important factor leading to the abdication of Edward VII in (insert year). You can have one main cause, which you can argue was the most important (the one in the title). And three other causes, that are less significant yet still important. That's the structure I used for mine and I received 23/25. I am not sure if that's going to work but I'll try definitely:))) I don't think it will work, because there was only one reason for his abdication- the love of Wallis Simpson. I guess I'll have to change my topic I've changed it : "TO WHAT EXTENT WAS WALLIS SIMPSON'S REPUTATION THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR LEADING TO THE ABDICATION OF EDWARD VIII or REFUSAL TO LEGALIZE MARRIAGE BETWEEN THE KING AND WALLIS SIMPSON?"\ what do you think? )) Edited April 23, 2014 by Elisabed Gedevanishvili Reply
