My IB Schedule

Hey Guys,

So registration for my classes for junior year has begun and I was wondering what you guys think about this schedule and if you would recommend it. I would also like your opinion on the rigior of the following classes:

Junior Year:

HL Math 1

HL English 1

HL Biology 1

SL Spanish 1

AP Chemistry

AP Economics

Senior Year:

HL Math 2

HL English 2

HL Biology 2

SL Spanish 2

SL History or SL Comp sci

SL Econ (online)

AP Physics

Your terminology is very American, so I had a hard time understanding exactly what you mean. The terms "English 1" and "English 2" are don't mean anything for IB students from other countries since most of us would only call it English throughout the two years of the IB diploma.

Also I noticed that you're doing Physics in your second year, but not in your first year? Remember that only six subjects are required to receive the diploma.

Math HL and Biology HL may be a bit demanding, but as long as you're willing to work you should be fine.

But why do you call your subjects for example "Biology 1" and "AP Economics?" Is that what the subjects are officially called at your school? Do you have to share classes with "regular" students?

AP is another system.

1 and 2 according to my knowledge means IB1 and IB2 (but you can take a SL subject in IB2 and only take it for a year so there's the number for each course).

Your schedule looks difficult, but very similar to most advanced students, which means it shouldn't be that hard to receive good marks on all of your exams.

Warning: AP Chemistry and AP Physics are both very hard because they have a lot of content in a very short amount of time.

Your other classes look fine, HL Math is difficult, but I'd assume if you're choosing to take it you're good at math and want to learn more, so that shouldn't be too bad.

@Charlie: AP are Advanced Placement classes, another examination system used predominantly in the US. In most US schools you're required to take more than your 6 basic IB courses to meet graduation requirements and/or requirements for the number of classes you're supposed to have(my school it's 7 or 8).
