EE World Studies: Femicides and FGM

I have three questions and I can't decide which one would be more appropriate for an EE. Each has its pros and cons but overall I am very interested in the topics of study in each.

To what extent has Machismo and Marianismo contributed to the feminicide in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico? -- World Studies where disciplines would be history and ??? some other?

How has female genital mutilation in Egypt/Somalia/Ethiopia contributed to the demeaning of women and HIV? - World Studies where disciplines would be biology and history. i have not decided which country to do it on, but as it is more common in Africa and the Middle East, it would be around that region.

So, are they appropriate and narrow enough?

Is that second question saying it contributed a) to the demeaning of women and b) it contributed to HIV? Or is it demeaning to both? I am guessing you meant the former, but it reads like the latter, at least for me.

And even if it is the former, to say something 'contributed to HIV' probably isn't accurate. Something can contribute to the spread of HIV, perhaps. I think you'll need to reword that question if you go with it.

I personally would never choose either of those topics, but that doesn't mean they're bad. They're just not something I'd be interested in studying. Are they narrow enough? Maybe... If I had to lean, I'd say you could probably go a little more specific and still fill your word count.

which is more scientific-like and could be easier? maybe?

Your EE ideas sound so ambitious to me. It sounds like you're trying to write a thesis paper. I guess I don't have that mindset for my EE. Your new idea also sounds like it would be undoable. How would you show that? Do you have extensive statistics for carbon footprint in Iceland, and the changes for carbon footprints in other countries that change to carbon dioxide? Could you ever truly state with certainty a conclusion? What does it mean to "change Iceland?" Does that mean geothermal will change its culture? Or geography? I just don't get it.

If you're interested in a topic, I'd suggest writing 10 versions of it without editing any of them. Then, look at them the next day or two and see what you think. Which ones stand out as interesting, answerable, and relevant to the project. Those are the ones I'd focus on choosing from.
