Armani Thurman
I was wondering if anyone is doing an extended essay in bio without doing a lab. Do you have to actually perform an experiment? Or, can you strictly write based on previous research? Reply
Rogue
Apparently research-based Extended Essays do not do well in any scientific subject compared to experiment-based EEs. Reply
mckenziefsg
case studies are acceptable they have to be very thorough though. Reply
Emmi
You need an experiment if you want to score any higher than a D, and even that's being generous of the graders. Although I believe there's an example in the guide where you can not perform an experiment and instead evaluate a different source's data, don't do that. Make up your own experiment, because 9 times out of 10 you will score better with your data than using someone else's. Reply
alii264
Biology is one of the hardest EE;s. In order to score high marks, i highly recommend you design a Lab and then go from there. EE's require first hand sources as well such as from an actual lab, hospital, or any research centre. Access to these plus an experiment will definitely be the best route.
