urania-quasar
I'm trying to narrow down my topic before I get into the meat of my research. I'm pretty certain that I want to discuss ancient Egypt since I've always had an interest in that area of history, and there's a lot of information about the rights of women during this time. Egyptian women had many more rights than women of other ancient cultures, and women had diverse representation in Egyptian mythology. I think that I could also touch on the female pharaoh, Hatshepsut, and her rule. However, this all raises a couple of issues for me: 1. I feel like it would be in my best interest to narrow this down a bit more. There is enough information out there for me to focus on the reign of Hatshepsut and the national contention resulting from her role as pharaoh if necessary. According to Egyptologist James Henry Breasted she is also known as "the first great woman in history of whom we are informed," so it could be interesting. 2. Whether I focus on Hatshepsut or on women's rights in Egypt, I'm having trouble spinning this into a question that I can argue with. I obviously don't want to turn this into a narrative. Thanks in advance. Reply
