tang
Does being in a chess club count for creative hours? I've been researching ideas for creative and a lot of lists include chess club, but I don't see where the creativity is in playing chess. 1 Reply

Sandwich
'Creativity' encompasses intellectual skill acquisition so I suppose you could say that Chess is acquiring strategies. You have to imagine moves far ahead and generally you could make an argument for creativity on the basis of that I think. It's engaging your mind to think in various different ways. Considering language learning also counts for creativity, it's a similar thing. 'Action' generally has to involve physical exercise so I personally wouldn't stick Chess anywhere near it Picking up and moving the pieces isn't really that exerting. It's really up to your CAS Co-ordinator as to where they'll let you put Chess club, you should go and speak to them. Reply
insomniac writer
At my school, chess does count for Creativity and Action is a sport, or some sort of physical activity. Reply
