Guest Posted June 18, 2014 Report Share Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) well, so i chose chinese a sl self taught and i am absolutely confused .i have no idea how should i start , i mean how to prepare for the ib chinese course !!!! as far as i known , there is a list of books i need to read during the ib course , where can i get it from ? does (self taught) mean i need to study the whole two year chinese al on my own ? without any help from a personal tutor ?how about the internal assessments ? or where can i find a online tutor ? i am quite worried about it , please give me some sort of advice !!! thank you so much . The way it works at my school is that the self-taught kids get help from a teacher who knows how the course works (could be an English A teacher, for example), but who doesn't necessarily speak the language. Then you'd get help with internal assessments, books to read etc. Structural stuff. Also, I don't think there is a set list of all the books you have to read - at least for English A SL, my teacher gets to chose books from a list or something.
