Emmi
The easiest subject to get a 7 in is the subject you like a lot and do very well in. Whether or not it will be hard to get a 7 depends on how good you are at the subject, how well you enjoy the subject, and how well your teacher prepares you (or how well you self-study). A science-minded person may find HL chemistry very easy and HL English hard, and vice versa. My friend struggled in Spanish, got extra help, and only got a 5 at HL. I pick up foreign languages quickly and enjoy learning them and got a 7 with very little effort. Grade boundaries are a good indication but are in no way an official indicator of difficulty. You might think it's easy to do physics because the grade boundaries are often in the low 70's for an exam, but that's because it's difficult for most people. Group 2 languages are also considered easy, but hard to get a 7 because native speakers take the B level course instead of language and literature courses and drive up the boundary (very common in Spanish, the required score for a 7 is near 90%). Some subjects are hard to score a 7 in because it's "subjective" such as ITGS, business, and English, meaning one grader might feel your essay was a 6 and another a 7. Therefore I cannot rank your subjects. 4 Reply
John Hoose
Aside from the obvious 'it's easy to get a 7 if you like the subject' (not necessarily the case), easiest subjects to get a 7 in are: Geo SL/HLESS SL/HLEco SLBio SL (HL isn't hard but its a lot of memorisation and is very time consuming, which you can't really afford during the IB)Math Studies SLany Language B (if you have a background in it)Ab Initio Languages (with minimal effort) 2 Reply
Aishalol
The ones you enjoy and think that you can bare by studying alot in. IB is demanding but quite fun as you learn alot of stuff so please don't think of choosing your subject that way.Just don't. Hope you choose your favourite subject and not the easiest ones! Good luck! Reply
Maple
English Lit + History require a lot of work and luck to get a 7. You can be extremely talented at analyzing literature, but its that small bit of luck that can determine whether you get a 6 or a 7. Just something to note, I think humanities subjects tend to be easier to get an okay mark (say in the 5 range) than the sciences, but it is more difficult to score extremely poorly or extremely well (2, 3 or 7). On the other hand, many people either understand the sciences and do well (5-7) or don't understand the sciences and get (3-5). Oh dear I hope that made some sense e_e 3 Reply

Oh dear I hope that made some sense e_eYeah, that made a lot of sense to me. I think you're right too. History and Literature are certainly difficult to get all the way up to a 7, but there were some awful IOPs this year in my class and yet, everyone still passed. It takes a lot to do badly. As for the other side, you can't go on the IB HL math test and make stuff up and hope to pass. I think getting a 7 in the sciences isn't necessarily the easiest, but I'll say it is the most predictable: You can probably go into the test knowing that you've memorized every textbook definition, know how to explain all of the phenomena on the syllabus, and be ready for anything than you can be for writing an essay on some prompt in history. Thought to be honest I am only aiming for a 6 in them both Reply
