chaoticmadness
Hi! I am one mark away from a 7 in my hl chemistry and my teacher tells me I should remark, but I'm not sure I should. She gave me my components; I got a 63 in paper 2 and the 7 starts from a 66, and I got a 36 on paper 3 and the 7 starts from 38. I got a 7 on the practical work and I'm one mark away from a 7 in paper one, but these are not regraded. Overall, I got a 78 and the 7 starts from a 79. Do you think I should remark? Is it likely that I get raised to a 7?Thank you!! Reply
ultimateone
Hi, yes you definitely should re-mark it! Because there is a chance you can get that extra point for a 7. And even if you don't get the 7, you're still on the top end of a 6 so you won't lose anything and will stay at the same score as the worst case scenario.I'd say go for it! 1 Reply
thedudeo
There's quite a chance you'd get the 7, but do you need it? It's unlikely, but the risk of going down a grade is real. If you don't need that 7 for uni or anything I'd probably just leave it as it is. Reply

Thrashmaster
Keep in mind that the science mark schemes are usually pretty objective - you either wrote the correct definition or not, for example. But if you're really high on the 6 markband, and you really want to get a 7, there is certainly a chance you could go up and a relatively low chance you'd drop all the way down to a 5. In all likelihood, you'd stay the same, but if you want to put the money in at the chance to get a 7, that's certainly the way go. 1 Reply
