Kanster20
Hi everyone. Next year I going to Pre-IB. I was wondering how I could get prepared for my grade 9 year in Pre-IB. The two optional courses I have taken are Visual Arts and Business and Technology. Of course there are the mandatory courses as well. Can anybody give my useful text book names, or websites that can help me prepare? Thanks! Reply
Sandwich
I would just enjoy your summer. Preparing for pre-IB is like getting ready so that you can get ready so that you can leave the house or something. Pre-IB is already the preparation bit. Preparing for your preparation is overkill. If you really want to do something, I'd ask your school what books they want you to read the next year etc. and maybe read them if you want. Otherwise, I'd relax. Pre-IB is all the preparation you need, you don't need to prepare for it. 9 Reply

Find out all the new developments, cool stuff (like fractals for maths), etc. This way you'll sorta have an idea when you start, but you also won't be ridiculously overprepared and start falling asleep in class. 1 Reply
John Hoose
Read the subject guides, look at the different topics, some questions and papers. You should have a feel of what the subject is like and the different papers that you will be tested on (just so you have an idea). It is always better to be prepared - if there is something on the syllabus that really interests you, do your own research on it. Obviously there isn't a need to to do tons of exercises and totally over prepare (unless its Math HL ) but make sure you know what sort of work will be required. Oh and enjoy your sleep. A year of rest before the IB will do you a world of good haha Reply
