Also, there are many types of transformers. You are looking at efficiency and problem is that most iron cored transoformers are 99% efficient already. This problem that I just summarised in 1 sentence is the major downsides of my EE as it was originally on investigating Eddy Currents (a factor that will affect the efficiency of a transformer).
