I know that US can be a informal write-up that talks about unique life experiences or certain event (e.g. some accident, competition, difficulty you had to go through) and UK has to be very formal write up that talks about your qualities, achievements, why you are interested in certain jobs and so on. For my case, I am applying to a university in Switzerland. If I am submitting a personal statement, must it be formal (like UK) or informal (like US)? I would also be applying to universities Hong Kong, Singapore and US. I don't mind doing several write-ups if that is necessary.
