xoxoyessica
How long did it take to complete your ee? Reply
Emmi
I did it in the summer between IB1 and IB2, and it took me about three months from the time I came up with my final question to the time I finished my first draft. After that it was just a few minor edits, and I handed my EE in to my supervisor by October. Get it done early. I can't stress that enough. Quite a few people in my school thought it was a joke and didn't do it until my school's internal deadline of December, which happened to also correspond to when we do our official TOK presentations, the official TOK essay, and foreign language IAs, and if you were in HL math, your HL math IA. So while all those people were trying to get all that done plus their EE and brought all sorts of unnecessary stress upon themselves, I didn't have to worry about it. Plus I was done so early that I could edit it and make it perfect. I ended up with an A, while most people who waited until the last minute got no higher than a C. khimberleigh
About two months plus a few days here and there editing drafts and meeting with my supervisor. Not continuously obviously, but that does include researching and writing. I also did it during the Summer between IB1 and IB2 and as a result had it finish about 8 months before the actual deadline, it was a great feeling and I certainly recommend trying to do it over the Summer. Just make sure you've pretty much got your question sorted and have spoken with your supervisor before the school holidays so you can spend the holidays working on it and not having to wait until school goes back to make sure you're on the right track.
