Terminator
Hi I was writing my data collection processing part of my IA and was wondering if we have to indicate uncertainty when calculating processed averages? My raw data contains just whole numbers, if that helps. Thanks Reply
khimberleigh
Yes, if there was uncertainty in your raw data there will be uncertainty in your processed data. What I usually did for the uncertainty in the average is use the range of your raw data. For example if your raw data was 4,6,6,7,9,10. The average would be 7 and the uncertainty would be plus or minus 3 ([highest-lowest] divided by 2). Reply
Lauren Johnson
what if you are calculating the field of view and the mitotic index...what would be the uncertainties for those? Reply
