AlmostIsNeverEnough
HellooooCould someone help me? In each subject I have to do some sort of project or sth that counts as the internal assessment. But are they part of the 45 points? And what do I have to do for each subject ( HL: Spanish, English B, Philosophy; SL: Bio, Chemistry and Maths) I know about the Maths exploration but what else I need? I there's someone who had finished all or can answer, when is recommended to start my EE, the exploration and so.. I want to finish my CAS activities this year but with the EE and the other stuff I have no idea.Muchasssss graciass Reply
Thrashmaster
Internal assessments (IAs) count as a percentage of each class's final score. You will need to do well on them if you hope to get a 7 in a class, unless you can get a perfect score on the final exams, and I mean literally perfect. So yes, they are part of the total 45 points. They probably represent about 1-3 out of 7 points per class. For chemistry and bio you'll be doing a lab report for your internal assessment. For HL Spanish, I believe you'll have to do what in English we call the internal oral presentation (IOP) and the internal oral commentary (IOC). The IOP is a creative presentation you prepare about a text read during that semester, while the IOP is like a small speech you give about a poem extract after 20 minutes of preparation. These are oversimplifications. You probably have something in philosophy, but I don't know. Your language B class has a group oral discussion and a written component (or is that an external assessment. I can't remember). You say you already know about math. Most people start the EE process after a semester is done. You'll need an advisor before you can start, and often the school decides when to give those out. Lastly, CAS is actually supposed to be done over the 18 months. You aren't really supposed to be allowed to finish all of your hours this year. I hope this helped! 1 Reply
