spacescampi
Taking 4 HLs requires lots of commitment to each subjects. Some might be harder than others. It really depends on what you are capable of doing! I'm very certain that I only manage to do 3 HLs, and that's enough to me. On the other hand, there are four people in my class that has 4 HLs, and so far, they manage. IB does advice you to take 3 HLs so you don't overwork with subjects and such, so I would strongly recommend you to do 3 HLs only! However, you could start off with 4 HLs that you like, and if you find one of them to be difficult, time-consuming or whatsoever, you could drop it to SL 1 Reply
Pink97
You won't be given extra credit for taking 4 higher levels if you apply to any UK university. However, if you intend on applying to universities in the US, taking 4 higher levels will increase your overall course rigor but seeing as solely doing the IB diploma means you've undertaken the most rigorous course load available to you, it's absolutely unnecessary. You're taking some seriously difficult subjects so you're definitely better off sticking to the traditional combination of 3HLs and 3SLs. 2 Reply
