Emmi
You have to think of a topic yourself, we cannot think of one for you. This is part of your grade, and giving you a topic is cheating. Math studies IAs are usually about picking two variables you think are related and doing statistics to see if there is a relationship. You can pick anything you want, as long as you have some reason to believe there's a link. Here you can find some examples: http://xmltwo.ibo.org/publications/DP/Group5/d_5_matsd_tsm_1205_1/html/67.207.142.65/exist/rest/app/tsm.xql@doc=d_5_matsd_tsm_1205_1_e&part=2&chapter=1.html Note that those examples are things already sent in to the IB, so you can't use them as your topic. However, they should show you what kinds of topics work for a math studies IA. 3 Reply
chad_haddad
Pick something you're interested in and enjoy it. My friend loves soccer so he did something soccer related, at what age players thrived most in their careers. 1 Reply

Sceptyczka
Maybe it's too late (since the deadline for your first draft is tomorrow and you would have to create a survey to do this what takes time) but otherwise you could try something that is easy to measure. For example I did my Math IA about the impact of the amount of sleep students get during the week on their grades because most students know how many hours of sleep they get on average and they also know their GPA so it's easy to collect reliable data through surveys.
