saudade
Hello everyone, So I was doing my TOK essay and realised that there is this statement that is included in a theory (or maybe the statement itself is the theory, I am not so sure). So the statement goes like this: "We tend to see what we want to see, hear what we want to hear..." and so on (maybe). I am going to use it in my essay, however I am not sure in what theory the statement is. Can anyone help me? TOK Gods, maybe? Please. Reply
Blackcurrant
What do you mean by "in what theory"? If anything, this statement reflects what one calls a predisposition. It is not part of a theory, as far as I know -- unless somehow you are referring to pattern-recognition or what is called in Psychology "Gestalt" theory. Is that what you are reaching for?
