Guest
So, we have our practice IOP (POP) coming up in about a week, and thankfully I have some good options that I can use. However, as I have a habit of planning for the future, I want to save the best one I can possibly do for my IOP, so I have enough to talk about it. I'm planning on doing this poem, but in class we've already studied another poem by the same poet which has similar themes. If I use the first poem in the practice, then do a comparative in the actual IOP between the two poems, would I be breaking the rules? My teacher has told me that it's borderline, but it's probably fine, but I just wanted another opinion, if possible. Thanks in advance! Reply
Blackcurrant
Sounds like a good idea. Why not. What "rules" would you be breaking? As long as you show knowledge and understanding of the poems and make a valid comparison of the two, focusing on how "thoughts and feelings" are conveyed (i.e. literary aspects) then you should come out with flying colours. Hope this helps you decide what to do. Good luck! V. Edited March 23, 2015 by Blackcurrant Reply
