avalinelegato
Hey guys! My year was asked to think about ideas that we would do for our maths exploration, and I've been searching for the past week for any ideas. I have a few ideas, however I'm not sure whether they'd be sufficient for SL Maths. Also, one huge problem I have is that I might have a stimulus, or a general idea I'm interested in, but I'm a little unclear on what I should do to explore further. We'll get to ask our teacher for feedback in about a few days' time, however I want to get your feedback as well so that I can make changes asap So my ideas are: 1) Cyclic pentagon- I watched a video online, and they were suggesting something about measuring the angles in each vertex of the pentagon, although I think we're supposed to go further than that :/ 2) Vampire Numbers- I find the concept interesting, but I'm not sure what I can beyond this- should I find a code and try decoding it using the Vampire Numbers? 3) Hexademicals- Tbh I got this idea from a game I played (and really loved), but once again I'm not sure what I should explore. 4) Number of a specific animal over time- This was actually given to me by my teacher as a suggestion, and she said I could take an animal (e.g. sumatran rhinos) and research for information regarding the numbers left in the wild and the amount of conservation money put into saving these animals. I can then use methods such as exponential functions, line of regression or something like that (I'm not entirely sure either ) I'm so sorry for sounding as though I'm a lazy bum who hasn't put in effort to think of good ideas- I've really really tried and I can't seem to find any good ideas Thank you so much in advance for any form of feedback! x Reply
